Peter Beard
Peter Beard is a troubled man. His life has never been like others. His solitary existence was punctuated by loss and grief. The loss of his parents at a young age brought him to live with his Aunt. Her early death from cancer left a young Pete without family.
His only links to his past are through a few scraps of paper left behind by his Aunt, and the few documents he's managed to locate on his parents since becoming a police officer.
Pete's closest friend, Galen Stark, a wealthy Senator from New Mexico is the closest thing Pete has to family; and he knows it. His affection for Pete is deep. He's seen Pete struggle to find a place in life and wants to help, but does not know how.
Pete is a muscular man, handsome and self assured. He likes beach sports and fast cars. But he is dedicated to the chase. The challenge for him is not the end game, but the clues leading to it. It's what he lives for.
